Hi, I’m kobi

I’ve never been very good at doing just one thing — and honestly, I don’t think we’re supposed to.

I spent years working as a petroleum engineer on offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, but the second I was off the rig, I was basically a nomad. I’d pack a bag, book a flight, and use every stretch of time off to see somewhere new. One week I was living on an oil rig, the next I could be halfway across the world — hiking a mountain, learning something new, or chasing whatever adventure sounded fun at the time.

Somewhere along the way, sharing those adventures online turned into a community — and Livin’ Like Kobi was born.

But this has never just been about travel.

It’s about building a life around the things that make you feel alive.

I want the mountains and the career. The plane tickets and the random Tuesday night plans. The big adventures and the completely unnecessary side quests. As a former Division I athlete, I’ve always loved being active and challenging myself, whether that’s hiking, snowboarding, surfing, signing up for a last minute half marathon, or trying a completely new sport in a country across the world just because it sounds fun. I want to try things I’m terrible at, go places I’ve never been, meet people I never would have met, and keep finding new reasons to be excited about life.

I don’t want to choose one version of myself — I want to experience all of them.

That’s what LIVIN means to me.

It doesn’t have to mean quitting your job, traveling full-time, or doing something crazy every day. Sometimes it’s a flight across the world. Sometimes it’s signing up for something you’ve never tried before. Sometimes it’s just getting out of your routine and remembering there’s a whole lot of life happening outside of it. I’m still figuring it out as I go — but I know one thing:

There’s too much life to live to be bored.

So I’m going to keep trying things, going places, chasing ideas, and doing more of whatever makes me feel alive.

Hopefully, I can convince you to do a little more of that too.

LIVE WHAT YOU LOVE.

See you out there. ♡ — Kobi
